Who + Why

These are my sisters – I shared a room with one for 14 years, was perpetually annoyed by another for 15, and considered the other more like my child for at least 16. Now, we share a personality. Now, we perpetually have deep conversations. Now, we have a significant height difference and I consider her to be the one who teaches me. Now, we are practically all grown – weirdly stepping into the part in Little Women where they all start to discover their purpose and go their own ways and partings are painful and meetings are sweeter than the Reese’s we get in our stockings every Christmas.

As I’ve searched for my own purpose, my reason for writing and teaching and sharing, I realize there are three of them. They have been my inspiration as long as they have been alive (I don’t know what I did those first two and a half years!). As the oldest, I’ve always wanted to make things easier for them, pass along what I learn, empathize with their struggles because I really have been there, cheer them on, and show them aspects of Life and God that have taken me longer to see than they could have.

This is all dedicated to them – but I hope my words point you to Life too!
